Visiting the beautiful island of Bantayan
Bantayan Island is known to be one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the Philippines. It has always been my dream to go here, well I guess everybody does! So, I finally decided to spend the weekend here.. Just sharing my 2 day simple itinerary.
I live in Cebu, so it was an easy travel for me.
Getting there:
1.Go to North Bus Terminal
2. Ride a bus going to Hagnaya Port. ( As of January 2015, fare is 160 pesos one way) Travel time is 3 hours.
3. Take the ferry going to Bantayan Island (fare is 170 pesos one way) Travel time is approx one hour.
4. Take a "sikad" or shall I say a mini pedal cab to your reserved resorts. (fare is 20 pesos)
Where to stay:
I booked my hotel online at agoda.com. I stayed at nordic Inn. It was a cheap one for 750 pesos per night fan room. The lady gave us an airconed room anyway because there were a few guests staying. Please check agoda for more places to stay.
Where to eat:
There are some great restos around the market where you can try some good dishes. For me, I only ate at some barbeque place in front of their church. There are some convenience stores also which usually close around 10PM. The island is quiet and people are having simple life. hehe.
Transpo:
On my case, we rent a single motorcycle which was 300 pesos for 24 hours.. It was great since we can tour around the island, you can go to Ogtong Cave easily..Ogtong Cave is located at Sta Fe Beach CLub - entrance fee is 100 per head. You can enjoy the pool, beach and the cave.

Island Hopping:
We went to Virgin Island.. you can approach anyone about it and they usually ask for 800 pesos rent for the entire pumpboat, usually can carry 10 people.
Entrance fee to the island is 500 pesos for 2 pax.. then we rent a cottage for 300 pesos.. you should bring your own raw meat and fish to grill. They sell drinks but of course its a bit expensive.

We enjoyed the whole day
taking pictures and did some snorkeling.. The island was so pretty! I
cant wait to go back here and bring more people! :)
